Project Overview
Throughput was a custom blockchain network built as an internal product at Analog Mutations.
The project focused on achieving high transaction throughput through a custom proof-of-scheduling consensus protocol. The protocol was designed by the research team and documented in a white paper, with the goal of improving scalability, transaction performance, and efficient data flow across a network of interconnected blockchains.
My role was to lead the initial implementation of the proof-of-scheduling protocol for the MVP, translating the white paper’s theoretical design into working blockchain logic.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was converting a research-driven protocol design into a functional MVP.
The white paper described the intended proof-of-scheduling mechanism, but the implementation required turning that theory into testable blockchain behavior. This meant understanding the protocol assumptions, mapping the scheduling logic into code, and working closely with the research and development team to keep the implementation aligned with the intended design.
Unlike a standard dApp or smart contract project, Throughput required working closer to the protocol layer, where the focus was consensus behavior, transaction flow, scalability, and MVP-level validation.
My Contribution
- Led the initial implementation of the proof-of-scheduling protocol
- Translated the research team’s white paper into working blockchain logic
- Implemented core scheduling-based consensus behavior for the MVP
- Worked on custom blockchain protocol logic instead of only dApp-level features
- Collaborated with the research and development team to align implementation with the protocol design
- Helped create a testable MVP version of the protocol
- Supported debugging and validation of the initial blockchain implementation
- Contributed to achieving the MVP’s transaction throughput and scalability goals
Key Features / Areas Delivered
- Initial proof-of-scheduling protocol implementation
- Custom blockchain MVP
- Scheduling-based consensus logic
- High-throughput transaction processing focus
- Interconnected blockchain network concept
- Protocol-level implementation
- Scalability-focused blockchain behavior
- MVP validation support
Outcome
The MVP was successfully completed and demonstrated the core proof-of-scheduling concept.
Throughput showed how the custom protocol could support high-performance blockchain interactions and provided a working foundation for further development.
After the MVP phase, the project was transitioned to a team in Saudi Arabia through an incubation and VC program for continued development and growth.
